Hello, I'm Blair

If you've made your way here, there's a good chance we have something in common.

Maybe you're the sort of person who buys books faster than you can read them. Maybe you have strong opinions about stationery. Maybe you've convinced yourself that one more bookmark, sticker, or pin is a completely sensible purchase.

I certainly have.

My name is Blair, and I'm the person behind Ruane Design.

I studied Interior Design, which means I've spent years obsessing over colour, composition, tiny details, and why some objects just feel special while others don't.

I've always loved surrounding myself with things that tell a story. The kind of things that make you smile when you notice them sitting on a shelf, tucked into a book, pinned to a jacket, or hanging on a wall.

The problem was that I could never quite find exactly what I was looking for. Everything was almost right. The bookmarks were nice, but not magical enough. The prints were beautiful, but lacked personality. The stickers were fun, but somehow still felt a little generic and flat.

So I did what any reasonable person would do. I started making my own.

Ruane Design was never created with a grand business plan or a five-year strategy.

It started because I wanted to make things I couldn't find anywhere else. Things with a little more character. A little more personality. A little more wonder. A lot more whimsy. The fact that other people now choose to bring those things into their homes is something I'm endlessly grateful for.

From My Little Studio

What was once a fairly ordinary study has gradually been taken over by foil samples, sketchbooks, printers, packaging supplies, far too many bookmarks, and a constantly growing collection of ideas waiting for their turn.

This is where new designs are created, orders are packed, and ambitious plans are made for products that may or may not ever see the light of day.

Most days you'll find me here with a cup of tea nearby, trying to convince myself that buying more art supplies counts as a business expense.

It's not a grand design studio.

It's not a magical workshop hidden in the woods.

But it's where every Ruane Design product starts its journey before finding a home somewhere else in the world.

Years of studying Interior Design means my brain still notices these things whether I want it to or not.

No seriously, I love Batman.

Thank you for supporting a small business instead of a giant warehouse full of robots.

Every order is packed by me, every design starts as an idea on my desk, and every review still makes my day.

I hope you find something here that feels like it was made just for you.

If not, don't worry.

I'm probably working on your future favourite already.
